A duet of these ingredients save a TON of cooking prison term , so now I always keep them in the fridge .

When I’m at the grocery store, I often have high hopes for myself — much higher than are honestly realistic. I buy all these nice ingredients (you’d think I’d have learned from my mistakes by now), and then when it’s time to actually make myself dinner, I just…don’t…want to. Even though I try to eat healthy, I’m usually tired and lazy, and even though Iliketo cook, I am DEFINITELYnota chef.

But every week I scrounge around my kitchen and manage to pullsomethingtogether. This recipe was conceived when I opened my fridge, found a bunch of smoked salmon left over from bagels, and decided to throw it in a bowl with rice and Something Green to make a sort of makeshiftdonburi. Now it’s truly my go-to easy meal, and I make it, like, once a week. So, for nights when you don’t really feel like cooking but you also don’t really want to just break out a frozen pizza, let me introduce you to a recipe from my (very achievable) Lazy Healthy Girl era.

This salmon bowl is the lazy-healthy invention I have been most obsessed with. It only has five ingredients, and four steps, and doesn’t even require you to get a skillet dirty. Here’s how to make it.

THE INGREDIENTS:

• One 4 - ounce package of fume salmon

• One cup of uncooked white rice

• One 9 - ounce parcel of Trader Joe ’s shelled edamame

From "Stepford Wives": Nicole Kidman walks down the aisle with a cart piled absolutely filled with random groceries

• Ponzu sauce to savor ( or whichever sauce you want )

• Garnishes , like furikake or sesame seminal fluid

That ’s it !

bowl with rice, salmon, and edamame

TBH , I do n’t really measure this and do n’t use the full package of the salmon or the edamame , but you’re able to habituate as much as you want !

This recipe seduce enough fortwo portions , so you may either cut it in one-half if you just want one or forked it to feed more the great unwashed !

STEP 1: Cook your rice. Good job!

STEP 2: Once your rice is done or almost done, get out your edamame. I got this stuff from Trader Joe’s and it’s already ready to eat; just stab that bad boy a couple times and stick it in the microwave for a few minutes, and you’re good to go.

Then, get out your salmon. The reasons I prefer smoked salmon over regular for this are because A) you don’t have to cook it, and B) the flavor is way more potent and tastes amaaazing. So once your rice is finished, get the salmon out. Do not feed it to the cat.

STEP 3: Put the rice, salmon, and edamame in a bowl. Gorgeous!

STEP 4: Throw your sauce on there. I used ponzu because I had it in my cupboard (the one I used is pictured below), but you can use soy sauce + lemon juice, or whatever sauce you like. I also like to top it off with furikake, but you can use sesame seeds or whatever seasonings or garnishes you want!

Et voilà! You have now made your beautiful bowl and can sit on the couch and watchTwin Peaks, like me. Enjoy!

P.S. If you make this, let me know if you liked it orrrrr if you have anything else you’d add to it. (I always want suggestions!)
