As reported byVariety,WednesdaystarJenna Ortegahas been tapped to star inBeetlejuice 2, the second time she will collaborate with directorTim Burton.
The sequel to the popular 1988 supernatural comedy starringMichael KeatonandWinona Ryder, alongsideAlec BaldwinandGeena Davis, is set to hit theaters on 23 February 2025, according to the Warner Bros. announcement.
Tim frequently collaborated with actors like Winona Ryder (Beetlejuice,Edward Scissorhands) and Christina Ricci (Wednesday, Sleepy Hollow),so it’ll be great to see Jenna have the opportunity to act alongside another iconic “goth girl” actor from the Burton universe.
Michael and Winona will reprise their roles as the mischievous Beetlejuice and teen goth icon Lydia Deetz. Jenna will join the cast as Lydia’s daughter, which is the perfect casting since she’s killed it in her most recent dark/horror movie and TV roles likeWednesday,X,and theScreamfranchise.
Word of aBeetlejuicesequel has been floating around for several years, with Burtonsaying, “It’s something that I really would like to do in the right circumstances, but it’s one of those films where it has to be right,” back in 2016.
With this latest news, it looks like Jenna is certifiably the next generation of the Hollywood goth girl, and I’m excited about it.

With many classic getting “ resequelboot ” in past 10/15 year , the in force meh & the majority , heaps of flaming dogshit , this casting alone give me hope . While potentially false , much of what I ’ve heard & scan , Ms Ortega is quite various on a set & w big regard for originals .
