Last year, theThoractor toldVanity Fairthat he intended to step back from acting after discovering he had a genetic predisposition to Alzheimer’s disease. He had been filming an episode of National Geographic’sLimitlesswhen he learned through testing and bloodwork that he was “8 to 10 times more likely” to develop the disease.#
“It really triggered something in me to want to take some time off,” Chris shared at the time.#
After the interview went viral, Chris spoke out to clarify more of the reasoning behind his decision.#
“Doing that show, each episode resonated in such a way that made me realize how life is just flying by, and I wanted to be still for long periods and more often,” he continued.#
While Chris said he feels “healthier” than ever, he also said as he’s getting older, he’s decided to be more “curated” about the work he chooses. “I’ve been running from project to project for a long time, just to avoid being unemployed or that fear that it’s the last job you’ll get, you know?” he said. “I wanna be more curated about the choices I make, things I immerse myself in or I’m involved in. I want to have greater value and work with great people.”#
