The fourth and final season ofNever Have I Everis now streaming on Netflix, so youknowwe had to catch up with the iconic cast at Tudum: A Global Fan Event in São Paulo, Brazil on Saturday.
With fans chanting “Devi” throughout the evening (cries in Canadian),Maitreyi Ramakrishnan,Jaren LewisonandDarren Barnetsat down with us to chat about their first impressions of each other, their fav on set memories, and even played a round of Never Have I Ever!
Congrats on the final season! When you look back on this ride, what was your first impression of each other and who has surprised you the most?
Jaren : Darren did n’t like me at first .
Darren : Yeah , I did n’t wish him . We were in the same screen test 24-hour interval and I thought he was reading for my part so I was like , oh competition . I ’m very focussed when I ’m about to do my thing and he was just chipper little Jaren .
Jaren : I was just excited to be there !
Darren : I thought you were prove to get in my head and mess with me . So I was like , alright . When we came to the first board read that all change over . I was like , he ’s my co - worker , hopefully going to become my friend . I suppose we all became friends very quickly . It was amazing .
Maitreyi : I think my first impressions of you guy are moderately spot on . I wish to think you ’re ( at Jaren ) the same person I encounter that first mean solar day . And I feel like I quickly perplex down that you ’re ( at Darren ) an absolute dork . Like people think Darren is suave , like super slick . No , it ’s all a front . He ’s just a brilliant doer .
When you look back at this chapter of your life, what’s the one memory that will come to mind?
Jaren : Like for me , it would be on the last day when we call cut for the final prison term — the scene that I finished with Maitreyi . I remember there being a beat of quiet . And then Lang [ Fisher ] just sort of say , ‘ Yeah , well , I guess we did it ’ . And that was it . The aura in the room , that vigor … I do n’t know if you could distinguish that feeling . I suppose that will kind of stick with me perpetually .
Darren : Wow , that just hit me in the stomach .
In honour of Maitreyi, one quick round of Never Have I Ever Canadian Edition. Never Have I Ever… had ketchup chips?
All three : Yes !
Maitreyi : I beat them ketchup microprocessor chip ! Every exclusive time I come back from Canada and I ’m getting ready to film back in LA — I bring one whole suitcase just fill with maple biscuit , maple syrup candies and ketchup chips .
Jaren : bottleful too , she got really nice bottle of maple syrup !
Darren : I can live off of Canadian snack .
Maitrey to Darren : You wish the ketchup bit . You enjoy the ketchup crisp .
Darren : Those and All habilimented are amazing !
