And now, internet users have been left praising Drew once again after witnessing another heartwarming moment on her show — this time not with a celebrity guest, but with a fan in the audience.
In a clip shared onThe Drew Barrymore Show’sInstagramandTikTokpages on Thursday, Drew wasted no time rushing over to comfort an audience member after spotting that they were crying.
“Are you okay? Did anything happen? Whose ass do I have to kick?” Drew said as hastily made her way over to the fan, who later said her name’s Olivia.
Olivia’s friend then explained that she was overcome with emotion because she’s such a huge fan of Drew, prompting the talk show host to respond, “Oh, thank God it’s nothing bad!”
“You could see me coming up here, I was like, ‘Tell me where they are! I will take them down! Who made you cry?’ Drew quipped.
Then, after Olivia was handed a microphone by a crew member, she revealed that Drew was her “childhood idol.”
“You’re just, like, my childhood idol,” Olivia said. “I don’t want to be that person, to like, cry.” In response, Drew said, “Screw that! Be that person!”
Drew then gave Olivia a huge hug, before going a step further and sitting on her lap as she comforted her. “I have the urge to do this,” she said as she sat down and embraced her.
“This is just such an honor for me to meet you,” Drew said, before quipping, “I’m sorry, I have dumpling breath.”
And Drew made sure to let Olivia know that there was nothing wrong with her crying, saying, “It’s so funny that you would say, ‘I don’t wanna cry here.’ I cry here all the time.”
As soon as the clip was posted on Instagram and TikTok, several fans shared their thoughts on the heartwarming exchange.
