Ooh , child . Those poor , unfortunate eyebrows — in pain , in pauperization !
Everybody’s talking aboutThe Little Mermaid!
Halle Baileywas phenomenal as Gen Z Ariel, and the rest of the cast blew us away with their magical performances.
Specifically,Melissa McCarthy, as Ursula, was one of my favorites. She served up 10s across the board for her show-stealing presence, her sinister look, andHER VOICE.
When speaking toDeadlineabout embodying the role, Melissa said she’s “always been a fan of drag” and was honored to pay homage to drag queens — including Divine (whom the original Ursula’s makeup and persona were based on).
So when a video dropped showing a behind-the-scenes look at Melissa getting a full-face Disney-baddie beatdown as Ursula, I knew the face would eat us up.
But I have never been more wrong in my life! The video began okay, and then the makeup artist took the eyebrows in an unexpected direction — literally.

See? It started off cute and simple.
Then things got a little out of hand once the makeup was added.
And then it ended up a complete mess.
The eyebrows looked more like an homage to Flotsam and Jetsam.
The eyebrows gave us Luann Van Houten fromThe Simpsons.
And, of course, everybody had a lot to say about the makeup:
nonchalantly google the makeup artist so I can throw a Chancla at them
Those eyebrows are a hatred offence 🤦 🏽 ♂ ️
