Ezra Millerhas faced their fair share of controversy over the past few years — and now theirThe Flashco-stars are speaking out.#
Throughout 2022, Ezra faced numerousaccusations and a string of arrests, ranging from disorderly conduct to harassment and burglary.#
Ezra was alsoaccused of groomingand abuse across various countries and at one point evenseemingly choked a fan.#
In August of last year, Ezra finallyspoke out about their actions, sharing that they were seeking treatment for “complex health issues” after having “gone through a time of intense crisis” and apologized for those they had “alarmed and upset.”#
The Flashis still set for release next month, and some of Ezra’s co-stars are being asked about their alleged behavior — including actorMichael Shannon.#
While speaking toVanity Fair, the outlet alluded to the controversy surroundingThe Flash, to which Michael admitted it was tough to discuss.#
“If you’re talking about Ezra, I thought Ezra was lovely — very kind to me when I was there,” Michael told the outlet.#
He continued, “It’s difficult to talk about, but I always give people a lot of slack in this business, because there’s a lot of people in this business that have issues.”#
He noted that while “some people have more privacy than others” to deal with their issues, others have a spotlight on their mistakes.#
“Anytime somebody is out in the spotlight getting picked on, I feel for them,” Michael added. “Even if it’s warranted, it’s still a horrible situation.”#
Michael isn’t Ezra’s only co-star who has spoken out.Kiersey Clemonspreviously said it wastough to read the headlinesabout Ezra, adding, “What people forget is that a lot of people go through that, but they don’t do it with the whole world watching.”#
Meanwhile, DC co-head Peter Safran has said the studio is"fully supportive of that journey"Ezra is on right now and feels that they have made “enormous progress.”#
The Flashis set to hit theaters on June 16.#
