1.In episode one – “Joan Is Awful” – Joan and Krish are deciding what to watch on Streamberry, when they hover overLoch Henry: Truth Will Out. This is the documentary that ends up being made in episode two of this season, also entitled “Loch Henry”.#
2.You may have also recognisedWill Poulterin character as Colin Ritman in the tile forFinding Ritman. Will appeared inBlack Mirror: Bandersnatchback in 2018 as Colin, a games creator who went missing during the interactive film.#
3.A headline is briefly seen in the same episode which reads, “Grains Going Out Of Style”. A grain is a brain implant that allows people to replay memories in their mind, and the technology drives the plot of the episode “The Entire History of You” from season one.#
4.Sandy, Joan’s ex-colleague, receives a text message that appears above a notification from Smithereen on her phone. Smithereen is a social media site that is featured prominently in season five, episode two ofBlack Mirror.#
5.Mac, Joan’s ex-boyfriend, is also seen scrolling on Smithereen and happens to scroll past a photo posted by Lacie Pound. Lacie is, of course, the central character in season three’s first episode, “Nosedive”.#
6.When Joan goes to meet Mac in a bar, the song “Anyone Who Knows What Love Is (Will Understand)” by Irma Thomas is playing in the background. This song has appeared in an episode of every single season ofBlack Mirrorso far!#
7.ActorWunmi Mosakumakes her second appearance inBlack Mirrorthis season as Joan’s Lawyer in “Joan Is Awful”. She previously appeared in “Playtest” in third season as Katie.#
8.During the sequence in which Streamberry CEO Mona Javadi is telling Fatima about the quamputer, we see an episode ofCharlie is Awful. Charlie, obviously, beingCharlie Brooker– the creator ofBlack Mirror.#
9.In the episode “Loch Henry”, there is a front page of The Scottish Sun that features a headline with the name Michael Smart in it. Michael, an MP for Tipley, is one of the main characters in the finale episode, “Demon 79”.#
10.On the front of Davis' laptop are stickers denoting various other shows in theBlack Mirrorcanon. The blue bear is Waldo from “The Waldo Moment”, the eye is the symbol of the Arkangel system in “Arkangel”, and Tuckersoft is the video game company inBlack Mirror: Bandersnatch.#
11.The Callow Years –a documentary which is referenced in two episodes of this season ofBlack Mirror– is actually based on the Prime Minister from the first ever episode of the show, “The National Anthem”. Yes, the one that fucked a pig.#
12.“San Junipero” also gets a mention in “Loch Henry” during the BAFTAs sequence, in which a documentary about it is nominated for Best Factual Series.#
14.In “Beyond The Sea”, there’s a poster in the background about what’s showing in the cinema David has taken his family to. One of the items isSpace Fleet, which is Robert Daly’s favourite show in the season four episode, “USS Callister”.#
15.The “White Bear” glyph regularly pops up throughout the show, and season six is no exception. It appears in “Beyond The Sea” in an evidence photo from the murder of David’s family, and it’s also the symbol on the talisman Nida finds in “Demon 79”.#
16.The club seen in “Mazey Day” has the same name as the BDSM club from “San Junipero”.#
17.The actor Bo takes a photo of is famous for being inSea of Tranquility, a fictional show that frequently crops up inBlack Mirror. It has previously been referenced in the episodes “The National Anthem”, “Nosedive”, “Smithereens”, and “Rachel, Jack and Ashley Too.”#
18.Anjana Vasan – star of “Demon 79” AKARed Mirror –has appeared in an episode ofBlack Mirrorbefore. According toCharlie Brooker himself, she played a space cop in the episode “Nosedive” from season three.#
