“ It would not have killed you to acknowledge the mother of your first nestling by name . ”

Chris Pratthas sparked a divide with his Mother’s Day tribute post.

Chris, 43, took to Instagram on Sunday to share a sweet photo of himself, his mom, Kathy Pratt, his wife, Katherine Schwarzenegger, and her mom, Maria Shriver.

“Happy Mother’s Day to all of the mothers out there,” Chris began, before going on to acknowledge Katherine — with whom he shares 2-year-old daughter Lyla and 11-month-old Eloise — more closely.

“Especially grateful today for Katherine. You’re a wonderful partner. You’ve provided me such a blessed life,” he wrote.

“Our two daughters are so lucky to have you and you’re the best step mama to Jack,” he added, referring to his first son, whom he shares with his ex-wife, Anna Faris.

Chris went on, “And to my mom, Kathy, you raised us with such love and light and laughter — so grateful for you today and always. And to Maria, the best Mama G, I’m lucky to have you as a mother-in-law. And to all of the other moms in my life, I’m so grateful for all you do — thank you so much. Hope you feel celebrated today.”

Not long after Chris’s post was shared, several Instagram users questioned why he’d failed to mention Anna — with whom he shares legal and physical custody of Jack — by name, especially given that he thanked Katherine for being “the best step mama” to the now-10-year-old.

For a quick bit of context, this isn’t the first time that Chris has been accused of being pointedly shady with his words when posting on social media.

In November 2021, the Marvel actor came under fire after he thanked Katherine for giving him a“gorgeous healthy” daughter, in light of his and Anna’s son Jack’s health conditions.

Jack, now 10, had to spend several weeks in the NICU after being born nine weeks premature and suffering a cerebral hemorrhage. As a result, he currently has an ongoing heart condition and visual impairments.

Several fans questioned why Chris had felt the need to specifically thank Katherine for giving him a “healthy” child in light of his son’s condition, andflooded Anna with messages of supportas a result.

With this in mind, many Instagram users have once again been left disappointed by Chris’s post, accusing him of being purposefully shady toward Anna.

“That was very nice recognition of the mothers in your life, wife, mom, mom in law, however it would not have killed you to acknowledge the mother of your first child by [name],” one user wrote.

“Not one mention of idk… the mother of your children,” said another. “What about your first wife? She’s being super mom raising your first child,” someone else agreed.

Before long, users wound up wishing Anna a Happy Mother’s Day themselves under Chris’s post, while others compared him to various celebrities who’d managed to name-check their exes in their tribute posts.

“Tom Bradymanaged to thank both of his exes in his Mother’s Day post. But I guess we can’t expect everyone to be perfect,” one person wrote.

“Future can tweet out an individual tweet for each and everyone of his baby mamas and this dude can’t even include his ex?” another user questioned.

And as the conversation unfolded further, several people noted that they’d “lost so much respect” for Chris over his “ignorance.”

“I’ve lost so much respect for you and the fact of NOT ACKNOWLEDGING your first child’s mom bc the fact that she’s doing more with constant doctor visits and has been there for your 1st child the least thing you could do is thank her as the mother of YOUR 1st child. It automatically shows the ignorance on your behalf,” someone wrote.

“Oh yes, lets leave out Jacks mom, the one who gave you your first child,” another user said.

On the other hand, some fans jumped to Chris’s defense, arguing that he did mention “all of the other moms” in his life in his post.

“He said all the moms in his life, he doesn’t have to spell it out. He doesn’t have to mention anyone if he doesn’t want to,” one person wrote. “Just because he didn’t mention his ex by name doesn’t mean anything. No need to read in to it. He may have said it privately?” said another.
