" How does that work ? ! You go to layer one night , you wake up the next morning , and poof : You ’re a lesbian ? " — Carrie on Samantha ’s relationship with a woman
That’s right, folks:And Just Like That… is back for Season 2. And probably like everySex and the Cityfan out there, I recently went back and rewatched ALL. OF. IT. — the reboot, the original series, and the movies. And boy oh boy, was it a journey.#
As I was rewatching, I couldn’t help but cringe at all of their truly problematic moments. Like…I truly can’t believe these scenes made the final cut. They also didn’t learn too much from their past mistakes onceAJLT…dropped in 2021. Season 1 unfortunately had many forced moments that tried to make up forSATC’sawful past.#

8.When Carrie learned that Barkley, the Soho womanizer, videotaped his sexual experiences with models without their consent, and the show just brushed it off like it was no big deal:#
9.When Samantha gained 15 pounds after moving to LA, and Carrie, Miranda, and Charlotte held an intervention where they essentially fat-shamed her:#
10.When Samantha broke up with Maria because they talked about their feelings too much, perpetuating an annoying stereotype about woman-loving-woman relationships:#
11.When Samantha complained about the Black trans sex workers outside of her apartment building, and called them a derogatory term:#
12.When Carrie ditched her boyfriend at the very cool and hip party because she just “couldn’t handle” dating a man who identified asbisexual:#
