" I ’m cool with Taylor . "

Joe Jonaswas asked about his relationship withTaylor Swifton a recent episode of Dax Shepard’sArmchair Expertpodcast.

The pair briefly dated back in 2008 and parted ways after Joeinfamously endedthings with Taylor “over the phone in 25 seconds” (according to Taylor on an episode ofEllenat the time). The two went on to release a number of songs about one another, including Taylor’s “Forever & Always” and the Jonas Brothers' “Much Better.”

Of course, much of this has been dissected again amid the rereleases of Taylor’s old records — promptingDax to ask Joeabout the relationship after “thousands ofTaylor Swiftrabid” fans went afterJake Gyllenhaal.

“I hope to think they like me,” Joe said of theSwifties. “No one fucks with the Swifties, you know?”

“We don’t really have a nickname for our fanbase, but we get it,” he continued. “We understand, [they] get passionate about their artists and protective, like, ‘This is my artist, how dare you!'”

Joe further noted that, although he had made Taylor’s fans “mad” in the past, he was “many, many, many years removed" from the whole situation.

As for Joe’s own relationship with Taylor, he said, “I’m cool with Taylor. We’re cool.”

He’s not the only ex of Taylor’s to have recently talked about her fans —Taylor Lautnerrecentlysaid that he’s “praying” for John Mayer amid the announcement ofSpeak Now (Taylor’s version).
