“ A single mom , a woman , lose a job because they were being candid and reliable and the subject was sex . … I did n’t even have a chance to fend for myself . ”
Earlier this month, Rachel appeared on theWomen on Toppodcast, where she chatted with cohosts Roxy Manning and Tammin Sursok about her preferences in the bedroom.#
They got onto the topic of her favorite sex positions, prompting Rachel to confess that she enjoys “missionary” because she likes to be “fucking manhandled.”#
“It’s been an interesting week, guys,” she said during Monday’s episode of her own podcast,Broad Ideas. “This is the first time it’s ever happened to me in my professional life, that I lost a job this week because of things that were said and then spun in the press and clickbait headlines and whatnot.”#
TheO.C.star went on to explain that a job got “taken away” from her because she “was speaking candidly and openly about sex in a humorous way” on her “friends’ podcast.”#
“I basically got a job, that I already had, pulled from me because I was speaking openly about sex,” she clarified.#
Rachel didn’t name the brand she’d been working with, but she did confess that she was “baffled” by the company’s decision to cut ties, later saying, “I feel like it’s discrimination.”#
“I said it in a joking manner in the interview, like, ‘Yeah, I wanna get fucking manhandled.’ Basically, it’s like, okay, give control or take control in the bedroom, whatever,” she explained. “Because that specific line was pulled and it made it sound a certain way, I didn’t even have a chance to defend myself. I didn’t have a chance to speak on it.”#
Rachel — who shares an 8-year-old daughter with her exHayden Christensen— said she was “floored” by the loss, admitting that “everything counts” for her when it comes to work opportunities.#
“I’m a single mom. Like, I need these jobs, you know … I provide a lot for my family — my daughter — and regardless of anything else, it all matters,” she said. “Everything was set in motion and I lost the job. It sucks.”#
In spite of everything, Rachel stood her ground by reiterating that she wasn’t in the wrong.#
“I haven’t said anything inappropriate,” she reflected. “Choice of language, if I could go back, now knowing I lost a job, maybe I would say it differently. But I still wouldn’tnotsay it.”#
