HBO’sThe Idolis already one of the mosttalked-aboutTV shows of the year — and it hasn’t even aired yet.

The latest goggle box drama fromEuphoriacreatorSam Levinsonpremieres on June 4 .

You already know that Abel Tesfaye — akaThe Weeknd— is one of the show’s main stars, playing self-help guru Tedros.

You might also remember that Abellost his voicemid-performance while on tour last fall and had to cancel the show as a result.

In a recent interview withW Magazine, Abel revealed that he believes he lost his voice — as well as forgot how to sing entirely — because of his work onThe Idol.

“I had to take off the Weeknd outfit, put on Tedros’s wig, shoot with [The IdolcostarLily-Rose Depp], then go back to beingThe Weeknd,” he said.

“It was tough to go from one head to another. Then, after the concert, I lost my voice. No voice came out at all."

“That’s never happened before.”

Abel also provided his “theory” for why he thinks this happened. “I was playing Tedros, a character who doesn’t know how to sing,” he said.

“I may be looking too deeply into this, but it was terrifying,” he stated, before saying that he’d previously never canceled a show before the night that he lost his voice.
